โš ๏ธ Federal tax credits expired Dec 31, 2025. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), signed July 2025, ended both the Section 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit and Section 25D Residential Clean Energy Credit seven years early. Heat pump and HVAC installations completed in 2026 or later do not qualify for federal tax credits. Oklahoma utility rebates are now the primary savings pathway โ€” and they can still save you thousands.

Active 2026 Oklahoma Rebates

Current programs available to OKC metro homeowners. ARP handles the rebate paperwork for qualifying ARP-installed systems.

HVAC Replacement Rebate

Up to $1,500 per HVAC unit

For OG&E residential customers replacing AC units, heat pumps, or complete HVAC systems with qualifying high-efficiency equipment. Exact amount depends on SEER2, EER2, and HSPF2 ratings.

  • Maximum 2 units per year per home
  • System replacements eligible once every 20 years
  • Must be an OG&E residential customer in a single-family home, duplex, or mobile home on a permanent foundation
  • Homes built in the last 10 years are not eligible
  • Application and invoice must be submitted within 30 days of installation
  • Rebate paid 6โ€“8 weeks after approval

Oklahoma Natural Gas Furnace Rebate

Up to $2,500 for high-efficiency gas furnace

For ONG residential customers installing qualifying high-efficiency natural gas furnaces. Amount varies with AFUE rating โ€” 95%+ AFUE furnaces earn the top tier. Replacing an electric heat pump with a gas furnace + AC combo can qualify for $1,950โ€“$2,500.

  • Combined ONG max across all appliance categories: ~$2,900
  • Also available: natural gas water heater rebates, dryer rebates
  • Must be an ONG residential customer
  • Qualifying equipment efficiency tiers required โ€” we verify before install

Smart Thermostat Rebate

$50 per ENERGY STAR smart thermostat

Install a qualifying ENERGY STAR certified smart thermostat (Ecobee, Nest, Honeywell, etc.) and get $50 back. Often paired with an HVAC install for stacked savings.

Attic Insulation Rebate

Up to $500 for qualifying attic insulation

Upgrade from low insulation (R-0 to R-22) to R-38 or better (13+ inches). Insulation helps your new HVAC run more efficiently โ€” OG&E bundles this with HVAC rebates in the same program.

Additional Home Rebates

$300โ€“$350 per qualifying upgrade
  • ENERGY STAR certified pool pump: up to $300
  • ENERGY STAR rated windows: up to $350
  • Free weatherization through OG&E's partner Skyline Energy Solutions (income-qualified under $60K)

How ARP Handles Your Rebate Paperwork

1. Rebate identification at estimate

When we come out for your free estimate, we'll identify every rebate you qualify for based on your utilities, home age, equipment choice, and current program funding. We'll show you the pre-rebate price and the final net-cost-to-you.

2. Qualifying equipment matched

We recommend systems that hit the rebate tier thresholds (SEER2, EER2, HSPF2, AFUE ratings). Sometimes a slightly more efficient unit nets more rebate than it costs โ€” we'll show you the math.

3. Complete paperwork after install

After installation, we fill out the rebate applications, attach the invoice and required documentation, and submit to OG&E and/or ONG on your behalf. You just sign where needed.

4. Rebate check arrives in 6โ€“8 weeks

OG&E and ONG rebates typically pay out 6โ€“8 weeks after the application is received. Checks go directly to the homeowner (or an alternate recipient you designate on the application).

๐Ÿ“‹ Heads up: Rebate applications must be submitted within 30 days of installation for OG&E. If you install through a different contractor who doesn't handle the paperwork and you miss the deadline, you lose the rebate. We build rebate submission into our install process.

Rebate FAQs

Are federal heat pump tax credits available in 2026?
No. The federal Section 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit and Section 25D Residential Clean Energy Credit both expired on December 31, 2025 under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), signed into law in July 2025. Heat pump and HVAC installations completed in 2026 or later do not qualify for federal tax credits. If your system was placed in service by December 31, 2025, you may still be able to claim the credit on your 2025 return โ€” consult your tax advisor.
How do I know if I'm an OG&E or ONG customer?
OG&E (Oklahoma Gas & Electric) is the electric utility for most of the OKC metro โ€” check your electric bill. Oklahoma Natural Gas (ONG) is the natural gas utility โ€” check your gas bill. Most homeowners in Edmond, Oklahoma City, Norman, Moore, Yukon, and surrounding cities are both OG&E electric customers and ONG gas customers, which means you can stack both rebate programs.
Can I get rebates if I use a different contractor?
Yes โ€” OG&E and ONG rebates are tied to the equipment installed, not to a specific contractor. However, the paperwork is your responsibility unless your contractor handles it. The OG&E application must be submitted within 30 days of installation with a complete invoice and documentation. ARP handles the submission for every install we do.
Why aren't homes built in the last 10 years eligible for OG&E rebates?
OG&E's rebate program is designed to incentivize efficiency upgrades in older homes that typically have less-efficient equipment. Newer homes (built within the last 10 years) are assumed to already have reasonably efficient systems from the original build. This is a program rule, not something ARP can work around.
What counts as a "qualifying" high-efficiency system?
For OG&E HVAC rebates, qualifying equipment generally needs to hit specific SEER2 (cooling efficiency), EER2 (peak cooling efficiency), and HSPF2 (heating efficiency for heat pumps) thresholds. For ONG gas furnace rebates, the furnace needs to hit an AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) threshold โ€” typically 90%+ for mid-tier rebates and 95%+ for the top tier. We verify eligibility before you commit to a system.
Can I apply for rebates before I install?
No. OG&E and ONG rebates are post-installation rebates โ€” the equipment must be installed and operational before you can apply. However, we can pre-verify eligibility based on the model you're planning to install, so there are no surprises after the install.
Are rebates considered taxable income?
Utility rebates are generally considered reductions in the cost of the system rather than taxable income, but tax treatment depends on your individual situation. Consult your tax advisor. ARP is not a tax advisor and cannot give tax advice.
Can manufacturers and ARP offer additional rebates?
Yes โ€” Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Rheem, and Goodman run their own seasonal rebate promotions, usually $200โ€“$1,500 on qualifying complete system purchases. These stack with utility rebates. ARP also runs its own seasonal specials that can stack on top of everything. Ask at estimate time what's currently active.
